Why did I receive an error message on my computer when trying to update my module’s firmware?

When copying a firmware file to update a module over USB the computer may display an error when the copy has completed (like 'device disappeared' ). Assuming the module itself displays 'Update Complete' or on reboot reports its firmware version as the latest, the computer error can be safely ignored.
